Country Velvet came into our rescue program on September 5, 2023. Country Velvet came into our rescue program from an Oklahoma Kill Pen and saved by the Standardbred Retirement Foundation. This poor girl needed a safe place and we agreed to help. Country Velvet is a Beautiful, Bay, Standardbred, Mare. Country Velvet was foaled in 2008, making her 15 years old upon arrival into our program. Country Velvet is extremely emaciated with a body score of a 1. Country Velvet is a sweet girl and loves attention. She is halter broke and broke to lead. This sweet girl has a long road of recovery ahead of her. We will update as she progresses. Update May 2024 Country Velvet is doing better and seeking a forever, loving home to call her own. This sweet girl has been slow to gain the weight back but looking better and will continue to progress. Country Velvet stands at 15.1 hands tall. Country Velvet is broke to ride and will make someone an excellent horse. Standardbreds have such great dispositions and make excellent family/trail horses. Country Velvet stands for the farrier and loads in the trailer. Country Velvet has a current negative coggins, up to date on vaccinations, deworming, dental and hoof maintenance.
